G.A.T.E (Gifted and Talented Education)
Bookcliff Christian School's GATE program is designed to enrich the education of our students. Students are offered opportunities to explore service learning, science, art, flight, weather, physical fitness, animals care, science fairs, languages, art, music, fitness, cooking and first aid. The topics vary and change monthly. GATE is an afterschool program for students earning A’s and B’s on their report cards and are recommended by their teachers. Behavior is important and also a consideration in GATE attendance. Classes are every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 PM to 3:45PM. There are times when our activity takes us to new places and we arrive back at school by 5:00. Parents are encouraged to participate in our activities when possible. There is a nominal fee of $30 per month. Students are free to choose which month to participate in and are not required to attend every month. Each month students will receive a GATE slip from their teacher in order to attend.
Art Heritage Program
Bookcliff Christian School will highlight six artists throughout the school year. Each class does two sessions of art each month, focusing on a specific artist. They learn about their particular style, time period, culture, and works. Then, they have opportunities to express themselves through art, using similar techniques. Kelli Lange is passionate about art and spearheaded the new program at BCS. "I feel so blessed to share art with these kids and I hope it will help them realize how much art can open up their minds to the way we look at everyday objects, give them an outlet to create, and also a release for their emotions." - Kelli
